Janene Grende
From patterns on a blanket of fresh fallen snow to the intense colors of a western sunset, Janene Grende is inspired daily by the
intimate details she observes in nature. Using gouache, Grende first creates an ultra-realistic image, highlighting nature's dramatic
color and details. She then usees the medium's abstract ability to mute the background, accentuate dimension and add an intriguing
mood. "I want people to see the subject I've created, then recall a feeling or memory connected to nature that fills in the detail."
Grende has painted for the National Wildlife Federation, the Bradford Exchange and the United States Humane Society. Her paintings
are featured in private collections across North America.
